Where to Listen to Live Music in Scottsdale, AZ

As the weather warms up, there is nothing better than spending an evening listening to live music on a patio. While a live band or performers always elevates an occasion, it is not always easy to find the spots that offer the best live entertainment. We’ve done the work for you and have rounded up a list of the most fun places around town to go when you are ready to listen to some tunes. 

The best part about the music scene in Scottsdale is that there is something for everyone. Whether you are looking for a hip place to dance, or just want to enjoy a fun cover band, the city has you covered. 

Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row

Whiskey Row is located in Old Town Scottsdale and is one of the most well known bars in the area thanks to it’s famous country star owner and fun gastropub ambience. As you would expect, there is no shortage of live entertainment here. On Thursdays, starting at 8 pm you will be treated to music from local DJs. Fridays are for happy hour, and you can head over starting at 5 pm to listen to live acoustic bands. This prominent Old Town spot is always guaranteed to be a good time, and is a fun place to stop if you are looking for a little Nashville flair in the heart of Scottsdale. 

Copper Blues

Located in the Desert Ridge shopping complex, Copper Blues offers a live music oasis tucked into the north Scottsdale suburbs. This unique restaurant offers musical entertainment while you dine. They have a custom venue space with a retractable sky wall that allows them to turn the space into a larger event venue as well. Almost every night they offer live music, comedy shows, and more in this fun space. 

Center Stage Bar at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch

If you are looking for a mellow live music experience, visit Center Stage Bar. One of the most stunning spots to watch the sunset is from this open air lounge and bar at the Hyatt Regency Gainey Ranch Resort. The beautiful lobby features a comfortable sitting space where you can also gaze out at the lush desert landscaping and the McDowell Mountains in the distance. In the spring, the resort kicks back off their live music series, featuring a huge array of genres from folk tunes to acoustic guitar performances. The music starts at 6 pm every Tuesday through Saturday each week. 

The best part is you do not have to be staying at the hotel to enjoy the Center Stage Bar experience. Make sure to arrive right at six to snag a good spot! Not only will you be able to enjoy twilight, you can unwind a glass of wine and soak in the music. 

Railroad Park Summer Concert Series

After being on hiatus last year, the summer concert series at the McCormick Railroad Park is returning for summer 2021! Every Sunday night starting May 30th, you have the chance to see amazing local performances, with a wide array of genres from high energy country to Motown music. 

The format has changed a little for the upcoming year. To attend, you will have to reserve a space for $30. Each space can fit up to six people, and the overall event capacity will be limited to 750 people each week for the concert. Attendees are welcome to bring a lawn chair or blanket to relax in the park, and you are also welcome to bring your own picnic food from home. This is a fun low-key Sunday night activity that is the perfect way to finish out a summer weekend. 

Kazimierz Speakeasy

Kazimierz, or Kaz Bar, is a wine and whiskey bar located right off the Scottsdale Waterfront. This spot has a speakeasy feel, and it is easy to miss it if you don’t know to look for it! When you walk in, you will find yourself in a dark candle lit wine cellar. 

This trendy spot has a vast selection of whiskey and other drinks to choose from, and is the perfect swanky spot to head to when you want a fun night out with friends. They have live music every day, and this is a particularly good spot if you love jazz music. Check out their schedule to find out who is performing before you head over. One thing to note before you head over is that this spot is only for those 21 and up. 

Rockbar Inc.

Feeling in the mood for some true rock n’ roll? Rockbar is your spot! This is a large rock music bar and concert venue built to fulfill the need in the Scottsdale area for a rock nightlife venue. While the Scottsdale nightlife scene can attract a lot of out of town visitors, Rockbar remains a local favorite. 

Inside you can grab food and get drinks, while soaking in live rock performances taking place on stage. If you are looking for an event space to host a birthday party or special occasion, you can also rent out part of Rockbar for an amazing celebration. 

Rusty Spur Saloon

The Rusty Spur Saloon is a historic staple when it comes to live music. It’s been voted the Best Country Bar in the Phoenix New Times, and is said to be a favorite spot for celebrities like Clint Eastwood and Vince Vaughn. This spot has been around for over 60 years, and is officially registered as a historic landmark by the city. The Rusty Spur Saloon gets some of it’s iconic charm from the Old West decor and ambience. 

This spot feels like a true saloon, and is the perfect live music venue if you have friends in town who want an Old West themed night out in Old Town Scottsdale. 

It does not matter what day of the week you stop by, the Rusty Spur Saloon always has a fun band playing. Their website boasts that what sets them apart from the rest of the Western bars in the area is that they offer “an authentic experience that will take you back in time to the days of the cowboys.”
