Are You Telling Your Real Estate Agent the Truth?

Are You Telling Your Real Estate Agent the Truth?

The process of picking an agent is a bit like dating: you want to ensure you get along with the person, feel comfortable, and can openly communicate with them.

If you don’t feel that way about your realtor, keep searching! Having a good relationship will make the whole journey more productive and fun.

  • All of this to say: take great care to choose your real estate agent wisely and use someone you trust!

While we all have special attachments to our homes, it is essential that you begin the home selling process with an open mind. You want to be in a rational mindset where you are willing to part ways with your current home and can be receptive to advice from your agent.

If you meet with an agent and repeatedly make statements that indicate you are really sad to leave or don’t feel ready to part with your home, your real estate agent might be confused about the mixed signals you are putting out. Their job becomes more complicated when the seller does not seem committed to getting their home sold. So pick a real estate agent you love, and be prepared to get vulnerable with them!
