May is always one of the most exciting months of the year, and this year is shaping up to be no different! Participate in Scottsdale Fashion Week
Did you know Scottsdale has its very own fashion week? It takes place May 11th-15th this year, and is a super fun week that brings together all of the best brands and fashion minded people in the Valley! Scottsdale’s Fashion Week includes a series of luxury runway shoes featuring designer brands showcasing their latest lines, including Alice + Olivia, Nicole Miller, and Trina Turk. With several different events throughout the week, you can buy tickets to attend the specific events that fit your availability. One highlight from the week includes the Sunday Soiree event on Sunday, May 15th, which includes brunch at Zinque followed by a fashion show at noon.
Anyone with a ticket to this event is invited to the official Champagne and Shopping wrap party at Tory Burch Scottsdale Fashion Square on Sunday, May 15th at 1:30 p.m. The event will include champagne, snacks, and 20% shopping discount benefiting Magical Builders.
Resort Style Mother’s Day Brunch
Don’t forget, Mother’s Day is this upcoming weekend on May 8th! Whether you are celebrating your mom, grandmother, or another mother figure in your life, a great way to show your love is to plan an outing to spend time together. There is nothing like a delicious brunch and sunshine on a nice Sunday morning to bring the whole family together!
One of the perks of living in Scottsdale is taking advantage of all the resort restaurant events, especially around the holidays. For the fun loving mom-figure, brunch at Zuzu at the Hotel Valley Ho is sure to delight her this Mother’s Day. They are hosting a chef-attended buffet from 10 am to 2 pm, where you can enjoy a fabulous variety of breakfast and lunch specials including a seafood bar, omelet station, and delicious sweet treats. It costs $75 per person, plus tax & gratuity, and is only $25 for children 12 and under.
For a mom looking for a high-end brunch in the north part of town, The Boulders Resort & Spa Scottsdale is also hosting a Mother’s Day Brunch with bottomless mimosas from 10 am – 2 pm. It costs $115 per person and reservations are required. Highlights from their brunch menu include an avocado toast station, a selection of tea sandwiches, and a whole pastry display with danishes and croissants.
Cinco De Mayo Bar Crawl in Scottsdale
If you miss out on celebrating Cinco De Mayo on Thursday May 5th, you have an opportunity to do something even better and participate in the Cinco De Mayo bar crawl this weekend instead. On May 7th, Boondocks Patio & Grill is hosting a bar crawl along with several other bars in the area including Hi Fi Kitchen and Casa Amigos!
This bar crawl will be full of tacos, tequila, and great music. Catch the Suns in a Playoff Game
The Phoenix Suns are the #1 team in the Western Conference this year and are making the locals proud! Work on Your Golf Game at the WTS Metropolitan Phoenix Beginners Golf Clinic
Golf is such a big part of the Scottsdale lifestyle, and if you have always wanted to learn how to play or just to improve your golf game, WTS Metropolitan Phoenix is hosting a beginners golf clinic to get you started. The clinic will be hosted by LPGA Champion Anne Marie Palli, and will take place at the Coronado Golf Course on North Miller Road in Scottsdale. This event will take place on May 12, from 4 pm-6 pm.
This is a great opportunity for those who are totally new to golf or want to learn how to master the basics of the game, including learning all the golf terms and etiquette. This clinic will include a one hour clinic, followed by a happy hour where you can network and meet other aspiring golfers, making this a great event to attend if you are new to the area or are looking to meet new people.
Even if you can’t make this event, keep checking back to see when they add their next clinic or ask one of your local golf courses if they host something similar. Golf is a great hobby to pick up while living in the Valley!
Participate in May Day Activities at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch
With the first hundred degree day in the forecast, it’s time to start getting serious about pool activities! The Hyatt Regency offers May Play Days where your kids can start their summer break early with fun special programming at the resort. Every day of the week the resort has an itinerary of special activities, perfect for a fun staycation. Your kids can participate in everything from mermaid hunting, to flag football, to musical chairs, to a class called Holy Guacamole where you can learn how to make the resort’s famous guac!
Don’t worry, there are also fun May Day activities for the adults too! You can have fun in the water participating in the Hyatt’s Aqua Bootcamp, a water workout that takes place every Wednesday at 8:30 am in the Lap Pool. They also have a Rosé special available during the month of May where you can get discounted bottles of wine to enjoy poolside during your time on the resort grounds! Plan your stay so that the whole family can enjoy the May Day festivities!
