Your Ultimate Scottsdale Bachelorette or Bachelor Trip Guide

Your Ultimate Scottsdale Bachelorette or Bachelor Trip Guide

In the last few years, Scottsdale has exploded as one of the most popular destinations for pre-wedding bachelor and bachelorette parties. Scottsdale offers a winning combination of bachelor/bachelorette party activities because of the mild weather most of the year, opportunities to be out in nature, and the sheer variety in the activities available for a group trip. It’s also a convenient domestic travel destination, with Sky Harbor Airport only located about twenty minutes away from all the must-see attractions and activities in the city.

You can plan a trip to suit anyone’s style, whether someone is looking to have a chill weekend by a resort pool, or wants to have a very active weekend out in nature. There is also no shortage of trendy restaurants and nightlife in the city to round out a fun and celebratory trip.

Whether you are in the planning stages of a Scottsdale bachelorette party or you are a local who frequently gets asked what the best spots are around town, use this as your reference article moving forward for the ultimate Scottsdale Bach blow out!

When To Plan Your Trip

The peak season to visit Scottsdale is between November and May when the weather is typically sunny and mild. If you want to be able to have a pool party and swim comfortably, it’s best to visit from April-October. While the summer months are very hot, the upside of visiting in June-September is that the flights and hotel rates are much cheaper, and the city will be less crowded. Be mindful that there are certain weeks in the winter where the city is quite crowded due to other tourism events taking place across town.

Where Should You Stay?

If you are visiting Scottsdale for a bachelor party or bachelorette trip weekend, in order to minimize your driving time and money spent on Ubers, your best bet is to stay close to Old Town Scottsdale. This is the epicenter of the Scottsdale social scene, with a ton of restaurants, bars, and nightclubs within walking distance. Overall, it is the most central spot in the city to stay, and will give you easy access to all the hiking, golfing, spas, and other activities you’ll want to explore on your trip.

What Should You Do?

Hike!

A Scottsdale bachelorette/bachelor party isn’t complete without a fun hike. While many travelers coming to Scottsdale have Camelback Mountain on their bucket list, it is not the most group friendly hike out there. The Echo Canyon side of Camelback is currently the only hiking trail open, and this is a very advanced hike that is not recommended for beginners. Especially after a night out on the town, a hard hike may not be the ideal situation for the guests on your trip! Instead, consider doing a less strenuous hike in the area, such as Piestewa Peak hike or a hike in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve

Golf!

For a group that loves to play golf, scheduling a golf day into your trip is an easy decision. The Scottsdale and Phoenix area has an overwhelming amount of courses to pick from, so do your research before you go about pricing, availability, and which course makes the most sense for where you are staying in town.

TPC Scottsdale is one of the local favorite golf courses in the area, especially their Champion Course which is known for being more forgiving and is a great course if you are going to play golf with people of varying skill sets. If you have any golfing pros in your group, they can enjoy the Stadium Course at TPC Scottsdale where the Waste Management Open is played each year.

Camelback Golf Club is the course offered as part of the JW Marriott Scottsdale Camelback Inn Resort, but you don’t have to be staying at the resort to play this course. In addition to the great central location, it offers views of Camelback Mountain and the surrounding desert scenery while you play.

Troon North Golf Club is one of the most noteworthy courses in the area for guests visiting from out of town, as the incredible views make it a bucket list course for locals and tourists alike. It offers two stunning courses, and does come with a hefty price tag to play, but playing at Troon North is a memory you’ll have forever!

Participate in a Pedal Pub Crawl

One of the quintessential Scottsdale bachelorette/bachelor party activities is a ride around Old Town as part of a pedal pub crawl. The party bikes can hold up to 14 guests, and start at $500 if you want to reserve a private two hour ride.

The pedal bikes come with a sound system to allow you to DJ your favorite tunes while exploring Old Town, in addition to LED party lights, and an electronic motor in case you get tired of pedaling along the way. The pedal pub drivers can get you exclusive access to different bars around town for when you are ready to hop off and explore. This is the perfect celebratory activity for bachelor and bachelorette parties, as you get to see the city while celebrating your guest of honor in a fun celebratory way!

Book an ATV Excursion

For the super adventurous group, Scottsdale is a great place to take an ATVing or off-roading tour through the desert. Look no further than Stellar Adventures, which offers guided ATV tours through the Tonto National Forest.

A guide will give your group a safety lesson on how to operate the ATVs, and then you will be off on a desert journey to have fun and explore with friends! To make it even more scenic, schedule the Stellar Adventures sunset tour to watch the sunset while you cruise around! The trail takes about two hours to complete, and drivers must be older than 12 years old to participate. All guests will be provided with a helmet and goggles for safety as they ride!

Where Should You Eat?

Prep & Pastry

After a long night out, almost nothing sounds better than a delicious brunch to nourish your friend group before another fun day in Scottsdale. Prep & Pastry is a fun brunch spot tucked right behind Nordstrom at the Fashion Square area. It’s known for being a charming brunch spot with plenty of fun brunch cocktails including their mimosa menu which includes nine different mimosa varieties!

The food at Prep & Pastry is great too, with plenty of variety in their breakfast and lunch menu options and offerings for those with dietary restrictions. Their french toast and pastry basket are two standout items that are always fun to share with the table!

Toca Madera!

Book your dinner reservation in advance before your trip to visit the atmospheric Toca Madera! This restaurant not only has an incredible interior design, but it offers a modern take on traditional Mexican cuisine and pairing it with locally sourced ingredients. In addition to their food, their cocktail menu is extensive, and is often switched up with seasonal drinks. Toca Madera is known for being a full sensory experience, with delicious food, an incredible ambience, and a theatrical aspect with drinks and food that the bartenders light on fire!

Fate Brewing Company

For a casual place to grab a bite to eat and try out local brews, Fate Brewing Company is a fun option, as they have ample parking and it’s a great spot for big groups. This local brewpub allows you to hang out with friends and get classic bites to eat like fries, wings, and hamburgers. The best part is their outdoor patio with plenty of big tables to enjoy the Arizona weather on a nice day. Try the beer sampler  to try out a variety of local brews and find your new favorite. If you order an appetizer for the table, get the salted pretzel with dipping sauce!

The Scottsdale bachelor/bachelorette party is on the rise in popularity for good reason, and this trend doesn’t look to be ending any time soon. In fact, there are even local companies in the area now that help coordinate these trips by stocking the fridge, decorating your lodging, and planning itineraries for groups before they arrive! No matter what size group you have or what kind of trip you want to have, add Scottsdale to your list of bachelorette party destinations!
