Make This Valentine’s Day One to Remember

Make This Valentine’s Day One to Remember

Valentine’s Day might fall on a Monday right after Super Bowl Sunday this year, but that just gives you more of a reason to get your plans scheduled in advance this year! Even if the day of love isn’t your all time favorite holiday, the surrounding Scottsdale area has a lot of unique events taking place that would make for a really fun date night with your special person or a group of friends!

CraySea in Love at Odysea

Craysea in Love at the Odysea Aquarium is the perfect Valentine’s Day celebration if you want to go for a nontraditional date and have a fun experiential evening.

On February 12th, Odysea Aquarium is hosting this exclusive 21+ event. It includes a five course sampling dinner with food stations throughout the exhibits, live music from violinist Jonathan Livingston, multiple bars throughout the aquarium to buy drinks, and an opportunity to walk through the aquarium and enjoy seeing many aquatic animals, including sea turtles, sharks, and sea lions!

There will also be a touchpool open where if you are brave you can pet some sea creatures. This event takes place the Saturday night before Valentine’s Day from 6 pm to 10 pm, and tickets cost $60 a person. Craysea in Love at Odysea is certainly going to be a Valentine’s Day to remember!

Sip & Bowl

If you have ever wanted to experience bowling in a night club setting, Sip & Bowl Lovers Lane edition is your Valentine’s Day late night date spot at Let It Bowl on February 11th.

It’s $35 a person for a general admission ticket, which gets you access to  a shared bowling lane. While you bowl, you can enjoy tunes from the live performing DJ. There will be food and drinks served all night, from 10 pm-1:30 am.

Plan a Fun Hike and Brunch

For the couples who love to be outdoors together, a great way to celebrate the day of love in the Valley is by getting out and enjoying a hike. One option is to challenge yourself and hike Tom Thumb in the McDowell Mountain preserve, then stop by Soul Cafe for brunch on your way home. The hike is about four miles in duration, and it is a straight out and back trail. While it is rated as being one of the harder trails in the area, the views from the lookout make the hard uphill parts worth it! Sunshine and fresh air followed by a delicious brunch is the perfect way to kick off your Valentine’s Day weekend.

Enjoy a Mediterranean Four Course Meal At the Andaz Resort

For those who love fine dining experiences, check out the Andaz resort’s restaurant Weft & Warp, which is offering a special Valentine’s Day dinner experience. On Valentine’s Day from 5 pm -10 pm, they are offering a four course Mediterranean experience that is meant to be shared with a loved one. Not only will you be enjoying a fabulous meal, but you can take in the beautiful resort ambience by dining inside or out on the patio. During the Valentine’s Day night dinner there will be an acoustic guitar and vocal performance to set the mood for the evening. This tasting course costs $120 a person, and it is recommended to make a reservation to attend in advance.

Book a Couple’s Massage at a Spa

Another way to indulge this year is by booking a spa experience for you and your partner to enjoy together. With so many spa options located around the Valley, you have a lot of choices to choose from depending on what type of services and experience you would like.

The Omni Montelucia is offering a Romance Month special at the Joya Spa. It’s a great way to feel like you are taking a mini vacation for the day without having to leave town! You can’t book the special on the day of Valentine’s Day, but for the month of February you can book a couple’s massage and receive a Prado restaurant voucher for two glasses of wine or champagne.

At the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, they are offering a Supreme Couples Spa day package that comes with a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne, a private poolside cabana lunch, with a 60 minute signature couples massage, a 60 minute facial for two, and dinner for two at their Bourbon Steak or La Hacienda restaurant. It might be more of a splurge, but you also get access to their cold plunge pool, eucalyptus aromatherapy room, steam room, and dry sauna, making this a spa day you’ll remember forever!

Valentine’s Day Hot Air Balloon Ride

Give your special someone an experience that will last a lifetime this year by taking them on a Valentine’s Day hot air balloon ride! Not only is it a great activity for the thrill seekers, but it is a great way to explore the Valley. A hot air balloon ride will leave you both breathless as you float over the Scottsdale landscape and take in the incredible aerial views of the mountains and desert.

To make the occasion even more special, you can pay to book the whole hot air balloon basket for yourself, so that you can have a special and private moment together. If you book your hot air balloon ride with Rainbow Ryders, the price starts at $189 a person for a group experience, or $425 for a private couple’s flight. You can expect to be up in the air for about an hour, but the whole process takes about three hours. After you land, Rainbow Ryders will serve you mimosas for a celebratory post-flight toast!

Enjoy a Couples’ Paint Night

If your significant other loves art, sign up for the Couples’ Paint Night at Craft Nights on Saturday, February 12th! This fun event is advertised as being an opportunity for you both to paint together, then leave with your matching artwork to hang up together to commemorate the occasion!

As part of the event each person will get a canvas, paint, and brushes. The artist instructor will be guiding the class on how to complete the design throughout the evening. Even if you aren’t the most artistically inclined, this event is low pressure, and is just meant to be fun! Each piece of art is one-of-a-kind and is a fun memento of the evening. Couples’ Paint Night will take place from 6:30 pm- 8:30 pm and guests are allowed to bring their own beer and wine. This event costs $90 per couple.

If you feel like Valentine’s Day snuck up on you this year, don’t panic! There is still time to plan something special with those you love most. If you consult this list for inspiration on how to spend your Valentine’s Day weekend, it is sure to be a success!
